Grand Canyon~An Adventure through Time~Nature Notes 031711

I've been to the Grand Canyon now six times and it never ceases to amaze me. It's like looking down, backward into time. And, to think that all THIS was carved by the action of water! If you double click on the bottom image, you can see a helicopter over the canyon. Doesn't it look tiny? Did you know that the canyon is 4,000 feet deep? It's just so incredible to see it in person. This was our first time at the canyon during the winter months and we saw snow hanging on the rim! Nature Notes for March 17, 2011.

  1. I also love the Grand Canyon! No matter how many photos I take of it, they just don't show how huge it is!

  2. Closer to 6000 feet deep, but then who's counting. When I hike to the bottom it feels like at least 3 times that deep coming out. I never tire of looking at it.

  5. I love the Grand Canyon - it's one of my favorite places on earth. It grants a sense of "shock and awe" like no other place I've seen. It's a place I felt deep in my soul and I carry it with me always. Great shots! Can't wait to visit it again .... and see some aspens along the way!
