Santa Rosa mountains~Our World Tuesday~ 091311

I headed up to the Santa Rosa mountains last weekend.  The skies were cloudy and it was cool, a relief from our 113 and 114 degree days!  It was so nice to be able to get out early in the morning.  We had been having morning temps of over 90 degrees, which made it just too hot to walk, but the temps are now falling and I see a lot of joggers and walkers out in the morning.  Our World Tuesday for September 13, 2011. Santa Rosa mountains~This Way Thursday and Nature Notes~060911

I frequently pass this way each time I drive up the mountain road to see my horses. However, there are very few turnouts along the way! I've "bookmarked" a few and on Sunday, I pulled over at this one. There is a spot along the road where I can look down and see the windmills by Palm Springs, but it is a very narrow view and I would have to stop in the middle of the road, grab my camera, and shoot out the driver's side window, while also watching for approaching cars! ACK! Some clear day I WILL stop and take that photo, but I haven't yet. I either have an idiot driver behind me or I forget to stop.
