Yosemite water~Watery Wednesday~070611

We drove through Yosemite National Park last weekend (the 4th) and arrived early one morning, before the park entrance station even opened. It was quiet and we saw about two dozen deer out in Tuolomne Meadow. There was still ice on Tioga Lake (see top two photos), which was amazing considering that it was July. But the park didn't officially open until June 18th, and Tioga Lake was completely frozen over at that time. I've never seen so much water at the park! The meadows were full of water, there were waterfalls everywhere, and the rivers were full! Water, water, and more water! A lot of visitors stopped to photograph waterfalls and lakes, so we weren't the only ones enjoying the views of all the water (and, as desert dwellers, we don't see a lot of water every day!), so we literally were soaking it up!
