My favorite place along Deep Canyon is a side dirt road which goes into the community of Pinyon Crest. I don't know anybody inside the community, but I often take this road to admire the beauty and the quietness (except for the noisy blue jays) of the mountain. Sometimes I stop to admire Santa Rosa mountain, which is hidden behind the clouds and the blue jay. Sometimes I just stop and pull off and listen to the wind moving through the pinyons and pines. If I could buy property anywhere on this mountain, THIS is where I would buy some and move my horses here and live. It's a 15 minute drive up the mountain from our current home and this area does get snow in the winter, but not very much. So, that's my corner of the world that I'm sharing for the Sunday Stills challenge this week, "Your Favorite Place". Sunday stills for March 6, 2011.
I dedicate this blog to my father, who first put a camera in my hands when I was 12 and who took me to many of the places that I love today.

Mountain road and sky~Looking at the Sky on Friday 100810
Last Sunday I found a semi-maintained dirt road and decided to investigate it. The clouds were gathering while I was working with my horses. I looked up and decided I should get back down the hill to the desert before the skies opened up! But, I couldn't resist this road and its view! Looking at the Sky on Friday for October 8, 2010.
