My favorite place along Deep Canyon is a side dirt road which goes into the community of Pinyon Crest. I don't know anybody inside the community, but I often take this road to admire the beauty and the quietness (except for the noisy blue jays) of the mountain. Sometimes I stop to admire Santa Rosa mountain, which is hidden behind the clouds and the blue jay. Sometimes I just stop and pull off and listen to the wind moving through the pinyons and pines. If I could buy property anywhere on this mountain, THIS is where I would buy some and move my horses here and live. It's a 15 minute drive up the mountain from our current home and this area does get snow in the winter, but not very much.
