Cahuilla Mountain~SkyWatch Friday 052810

I took a dirt road with the RAV one weekend and climbed toward the top of Cahuilla Mountain. Cahuilla Mountain is one of the most widely-reported spots in Southern California for UFO sightings. It is very remote and there aren't that many roads up it. You would need a 4-wheel drive to get to the top and someday I'll do that! SkyWatch Friday for May 28, 2010.

Mountain pond~Watery Wednesday 052610

About a month ago I took a dirt road and continued up toward Cahuilla Mountain. I had never been on this road before, and, with the RAV, I was able to drive it easily. This pond was on one ranch and I stopped to admire it. It was so quiet and peaceful there! I will have to drive this road again and find more interesting things on it! I went to the Living Desert, in Palm Desert, CA Saturday. My aunt wanted to buy some desert plants, so I was happy to show her around the park and the garden center. Palo Verde blossoms~Mellow Yellow Monday 052310Palo

Palo Verde trees grow easily in our desert southwest. They are in bloom right now and dot the landscape. These do not grow in our local mountains, but are abundant across the desert. They are FULL of yellow flowers, which the bees enjoy. For some reason, they have been spectacular this Spring. Mellow Yellow Monday for May 23, 2010.
