I dedicate this blog to my father, who first put a camera in my hands when I was 12 and who took me to many of the places that I love today.

More from Bishop Canyon
One day we took a drive down to Bishop and up to Bishop Canyon. There are several lakes there including North Lake, South Lake, Sabrina Lake, and the water holding lake down below Alpendell. By mid-day, the thunderheads were forming overhead. We FINALLY drove down to Bishop (about 3 p.m.) for lunch, then stopped to buy groceries there at the Von's market (and fill up with gas). It was a long day, but worth it, don't you think?

In the years we lived north of Bishop in the Owens Gorge, we or I would hike out of Bishop Creek once or twice (or more) every week. The trail out of South Lake was my favorite. These shots make me miss that part of the Sierra.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, well worth it. You're back at one of and maybe THE best places in the whole world! Wonderful pictures.
ReplyDeleteLooks lovely and lush. So unlike the desert. What a nice change of pace.
ReplyDeleteWow those Aspens are beautiful. I find them far more attractive than the Birch over here in Sweden. But hey, every plant has it's function and purpose in an ecosystem.
ReplyDeleteOne day I'll have to visit the Sierras. Can you believe I've never been ?
