Sierras!

Yesterday we drove from Hesperia to June Lake.  It took us from 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. because we made several side trips and we weren't sure if our cabin would be ready by 3:00 (it was).  We always enjoy the Twin Lakes of Mammoth.  We've stayed at the Tamarack Lodge right by these lakes, but it was full already for the summer.  Fortunately we rented our cabin here by Silver Lake early because, it too is now full for the summer.(Last photo is of hubby at the Silver Lake boat rental.)  We stopped at the Vons in Mammoth, bought groceries, checked in, and took a short afternoon ride out to Highway 395 on the June Lake loop.  I have no idea what we will do today...maybe we'll just hang out here and feed the blue jays!

  1. Hello,
I have been enjoying your entries about Deep Canyon.

Our readers (The Nature Place Journal on Facebook, Google, etc.) would enjoy learning about your country. Let me know if we could get together on an article for the August issue. All phases of this journal are non-profit and voluntary.

  2. I just let out a big sigh looking at those first pictures. The sierras are just a breath of fresh air.
