Moonrise over Superstition Mountain~SkyWatch Friday~052011

Once in a while, it is good to travel to another state and see what's there. That's what we did last weekend. We traveled over to Arizona and on Saturday we stopped by the Superstition Mountains just as the moon was rising. SkyWatch Friday for May 20, 2011. I've been told that it's virtually impossible to get decent photos of the moon. (It is for me, anyway.) But you've done a magnificent job!

SKY DITTY

A little birdie told me,
Although I don’t know why,
That if I were to look up,
Way up into the sky,
I’d see some wondrous planets,
The moon and sun and stars –
There before my very eyes
Blazed Jupiter and Mars!
