There's something about a desert sunrise~SkyWatch Friday~071812

I'm taking my Nikon with me tomorrow morning. A "cold front" is moving in tomorrow. Temps are supposed to drop here in the desert from 107 today to 92 tomorrow! YEAH! I'll take that any day! It's just too darn early for 107 degree days! Anyway, I found this beautiful sunrise a few weeks ago. We haven't had any clouds since then. SkyWatch Friday for May 18, 2012. Welcome to Deep Canyon~

I'm Cheryl Ann and this is my blog devoted to a deep, rugged canyon that I travel along every weekend on my way to visit my 5 rescue horses that I board up in our local mountains. Hubby and I and our 5 cats and 2 dogs live in the desert, but I choose to board my horses in another environment, out of the desert heat. I enjoy traveling the highway from the desert to the mountains (Highway 74, near Palm Desert, CA) every weekend and exploring the various habitats along the way, including the pinyon forests above Deep Canyon and trying to spot the elusive desert bighorn sheep that wander up and down this canyon. Highway 74 is known as the "Palms to Pines Highway" because it travels from the desert floor up through the pinyon forest to the tall pines near Idyllwild, CA.
