I dedicate this blog to my father, who first put a camera in my hands when I was 12 and who took me to many of the places that I love today.

Mountain fire~Friday's Fences~071913
I took this photo on Tuesday. By the next day, the road up to the mountains was closed. Apparently it is now open again. The fire has now crested the mountains and it is working its way down into the Palm Springs Indian canyons. Over 22,000 acres have burned and a monsoon is heading toward the valley. Such a shame so much of nature being destroyed. There is not a fence that can stop fires.
ReplyDeleteThose fires are so dangerous. Last year we had one in Utah that just ran right up the mountain.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great photo. I hate hearing about these wild fires. They have such tragic results for man and nature.
ReplyDeleteHate to see the ravages of fire! Lots of them this year!
ReplyDeletei sure hope that it can be contained and extinguished soon! the rain clouds looked promising!
ReplyDeleteWhat a dramatic photo!
ReplyDeleteI enlarged your photo. It's a good one. Did the fire make it into the Indian Canyons?
