I dedicate this blog to my father, who first put a camera in my hands when I was 12 and who took me to many of the places that I love today.

Egret~World Bird Wednesday~032812
I took the grandson (he's 3...) through one of the avaries at the Living Desert Reserve last Sunday. Hubby and I were babysitting him for the day and we love to take him there to see the trains and animals. He wasn't too impressed by the birds, but I saw this lovely egret there. I appreciated the fact that he was showing off his beautiful, lacy feathers! Aren't they graceful? World Bird Wednesday for March 28, 2012. No wonder a bird like this almost went extinct because of the desire to accessorize with those beautiful long feathers. Nice to introduce your grandson to birding.
