This is pretty much what we've had lately

This is pretty much what we've had lately, for the past several days, but the nighttime temps are down into the teens. I didn't make it up the mountain at all yesterday. I spent 3 hours helping with our daughter and son-in-law's yard sale and that wore me out! I mean...COMPLETELY! I came home from their house, ate lunch, and passed out for 2 hours! That was my afternoon! I'll definitely get up there today, however! :-) This is my last day of vacation before I go back to work...:-(

Welcome to Deep Canyon~

I'm Cheryl Ann and this is my blog devoted to a deep, rugged canyon that I travel along every weekend on my way to visit my 5 rescue horses that I board up in our local mountains. Hubby and I and our 5 cats and 2 dogs live in the desert, but I choose to board my horses in another environment, out of the desert heat. I enjoy traveling the highway from the desert to the mountains (Highway 74, near Palm Desert, CA) every weekend and exploring the various habitats along the way, including the pinyon forests above Deep Canyon and trying to spot the elusive desert bighorn sheep that wander up and down this canyon. Highway 74 is known as the "Palms to Pines Highway" because it travels from the desert floor up through the pinyon forest to the tall pines near Idyllwild, CA.
