Old window reflection~Weekend Reflections~102012

There's an old real estate office which is now vacant up in Garner Valley.  I love to stop there and take photos because, well, it's OLD.  And deteriorating.  And, it has a beautiful, huge Virginia creeper growing up on the outside of its fireplace which turns an amazing brilliant red in autumn.  I do SO love old places like this.  Actually this is the real estate office that we went to in 1971 when we bought our 5 acres of land up in Garner Valley.  We had the acreage for a couple of years, until after our first child was born, and we had to sell it because I wasn't working.  So, on this morning a couple of years ago, I stopped and took some photos, including this one which has the nearby pine trees reflected in its window.  Weekend Reflections for October 20, 2012.  To visit Weekend Reflections, please go to:   http://weekendreflection.blogspot.com/

  4. I remember that place thriving a bit when they first started selling lots up in Garner Valley for $35,000 to $50,000 a lot. I remember how folks in Idyllwild said how outrageous those prices were, but of course anything now is probably close to a million. I'm glad though that most of Garner Valley is left to the wilds.
