I actually have some California poppies in our back yard, but I found these on the way home, in Ramona, last weekend. This hasn't been a great poppy year, however, with the lack of rainfall. I remember some years that whole hillsides have been covered with them. This year, those same hillsides are bare...sigh...maybe next year?
Really nice photos! California poppies are my favorites. I feel very lucky that they are the state flower. The California Poppy Reserve is loaded this year.
